LittleBigPlanet Central have recently re-started their Creator Spotlight series, a series of interviews with some of the most loved creators around. The last in the series was with Morgana25, creator of a whole load of jolly good levels, and this time round it’s the turn of Jackofcourse – joint winner of the Creator of the Year 2009, and all round good chap.
These interviews are a great chance to take a little peak inside the mind of a star creator, allowing us to see what makes their brain work the way it does, so let’s dive on into the brain of Jackofcourse.
When we released LittleBigPlanet PSP at the end of last year, we had no idea what the community would come up with, and what would be made. But you didn’t let us down! We’ve played a whole host of amazing levels; some were addictive, some made us laugh, and most made us realise that there are some very talented creators out there.
After much playing and deliberation, we have finally arrived at decisions for who should receive each of these prestigious Sackademy awards.
So here they are: the winners of the PSP Sackies 2010!
Here at LittleBigPlanet Headquarters, we’ve been playing as many of the amazing levels that have been created by the community as possible, and have decided that we needed to give some recognition to those creators who’ve really impressed us, and reeled us in with juicy gameplay, art and dialogue. We hereby announce the PSP Sackies! There are six PSP Sackademy Awards:
The Sackies – Celebrating the highest level of achievement amongst Players, Creators and Sharers on LittleBigPlanet.
Over the last few weeks, we have been asking players to vote for the winner of the final Sackie award of 2009 – Best Level of the Year, narrowing down over 1.5 million levels to one that deserves this prize.
The voting closed yesterday, and now after receiving thousands and thousands of votes, we can reveal the winner to you.

The BEST level of the entire year. Wow. Narrowing down over 1.5 million levels to find one that is the best! But who will choose? Not us, this is far too important, this one is for you guys to decide.

Most of these awards are for individual levels, or things within them, but in some cases these levels are part of a bigger whole. There are some creators out there who manage to wow, innovate, entertain and amuse time after time after time after time.
This is the Creator of the Year award.

Gameplay isn’t always the focus of a level, but it’s by and far the most prominent idea behind a Creator Curator’s masterpiece. This award recognises the level with the best gameplay – the most fun, the least frustrating, the replay value, the novelty, how well thought out it was, and how impressive it is.

Levels can be used to tell a story in many ways, whether told directly with magic mouth text, or perhaps through exploration, this award will go to the level that stood out the most and used a well told story as a key part of the experience.

There are many fans of LittleBigPlanet, I’m one, you’re one, you probably know some others, look there’s one over there! Some fans embark upon epic projects, using their many talents to spread the joy of LittleBigPlanet to others, entertain us, teach us, or provide valuable services to the community at large. This award is to recognise those projects.
