There’s so much lurve on LittleBigPlanet, there’s always enough for everyone. To show how much we lurve you, you can download a free giant heart costume for LittleBigPlanet PSP™ from the PlayStation®Store this week.
And if you want to spread the lurve this Valentine’s Day we’ve also released a Lurve Level pack, with a fantastic assortment of new costumes and stickers to help make your levels as fluffy and lovely as a basket of kittens.
Love is in the air. If that’s true, it means you could accidentally breathe it in, and just like an airborne toxin, it could infect you; turning you from a normal human, into a day dreaming, love-sick puppy-dog-eyed lump, quite useless to anyone, and unable to function without sighing all the time and drawing hearts on things.
This coming Sunday is Valentine’s Day, the one day of the year when the air is most likely to contain the love bug, and we hope it is one that you all get to catch!
This week, we will mostly be celebrating the Chinese New Year, with the re-release of this pair of free costumes for Sackboy, sporting some festive red lanterns.

Do you Love LittleBigPlanet PSP, but wish you could have more stickers, costumes, and other creative toys from the PS3 game? Well you’re in luck.

Each year at the end of February, people gather to watch the groundhog emerge from his burrow. They say that if the little guy sees his own shadow, he will retreat back inside, and the winter will continue for another six weeks. If he does not see it however, there will be an early spring.
This Thursday, our own groundhog will be emerging from his burrow, and onto the PlayStation®Store, in the form of a free costume for Sackboy. Will he see his own shadow, or herald an early spring? We hope it’s the latter.
The European PlayStation forums have put together a video showcasing all the finalists to the most recent of their ongoing contraption challenges. This challenge? To build a device that could cross a big ol’ gap.

Most of these awards are for individual levels, or things within them, but in some cases these levels are part of a bigger whole. There are some creators out there who manage to wow, innovate, entertain and amuse time after time after time after time.
This is the Creator of the Year award.

Gameplay isn’t always the focus of a level, but it’s by and far the most prominent idea behind a Creator Curator’s masterpiece. This award recognises the level with the best gameplay – the most fun, the least frustrating, the replay value, the novelty, how well thought out it was, and how impressive it is.

There are various ways to use Audio in a level, and various tools to help you. Some people go above and beyond the call of duty and use audio in new and exciting ways, or just in a really solid and impressive manner. This award is for the best use of Audio in a level – both Music and Sound Effects.

Throughout the year, there have been defining moments where a creator has worked out how to break the mould, and bring new exciting ideas to LittleBigPlanet creators everywhere – either through glitches or new methods of using existing tools, this award is for the best innovation in a level, perhaps something that has been adopted by people as a common method, or just something so mind bogglingly impressive that you call the nearest person into the room to look at it, no matter how little they might care about it.

There are some people amongst you who dedicate such a huge proportion of their life to making sure everyone is as well informed as possible, and they do that by keeping their eyes always glued to the internet, constantly searching and reading RSS, and then immediately reporting back the second anything happens. They then stick around and answer every single LittleBigPlanet question everyone ever has on every single forum known to man.
This award is in recognition of that dedication.
